Mary Garner, Ph.D.

Calculus, Statistics, All Algebras

Dr. Mary Garner taught mathematics at Kennesaw State University for 15 years and currently teaches mathematics part-time at Oglethorpe University. She has received numerous awards for her teaching, including: the 2009 KSU Distinguished Professor Award, the 2007 University System of Georgia Board of Regents Excellence in Teaching Award, the 2006 Kennesaw State University’s Distinguished Teaching Award, the 2003 College of Science and Mathematics Distinguished Teaching Award.

She has taught a wide variety of mathematics courses, including mathematics courses for elementary teachers, middle grades teachers and high school teachers, as well as precalulus and calculus courses for all majors. At KSU she ran a series of competitions in mathematics for elementary and middle-grades students, and ran summer math camps for high school students. She has a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Emory University, M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Florida.
